(John) Blair Buswell was born in North Ogden, Utah in 1956.  He is a sculptor known for realistic figurative bronzes celebrating sports heroes and western subjects.  He lives in Provo, Utah.

Buswell studied under Dallas Anderson at Brigham Young University.  Sculptor Ed Fraughton’s technique and academic realism also influenced Buswell’s work.  As an avid athlete, Buswell captures the intensity and motion of each athletic moment.

Currently working for the Professional Football Hall of Fame, Buswell sculpts portrait busts of new inductees.  How Many More . . . (1998), a bronze cast, is an example of his work.  Danny Ainge (1981), a bronze, was a purchase from the spring salon at the Springville Museum of Art.
