Angelo L Caravaglia of Salt Lake City, then Summit Park, Utah and now Carefree Arizona is a mixed media sculptor, printmaker, painter, and educator. This extremely skilled and creative artist is orginally from Erie, Pennsylvania. He studied at Cranbrook Academy in Michigan and then in Italy at Perugia and Rome before joining the University of Utah faculty in 1956. His position at the University of Utah was initially (and until 1962) termed “printmaker“ and then “three-dimensional designer.“

Caravaglia a fine and highly expressive sculptor often used very traditional forms and materials for handsome and frequently lyrical pieces. Though retired from the University of Utah today (professor emeritus), Caravaglia is still one of the state's most effective and well known sculptors. His distinctively drafted imaginings are represented both locally and in major public and private collections across the country. He is a master of virtually every medium, and his visual sense of humor is whimsical.
